Blag Party - 31/12/08
Not really bothered with going out tonight - it's all a bit over rated (and over priced!). Party tonight at Dave Blag's; should be good.

Wimped Out - 30/12/08
Was supposed to be setting out camping today but yesterday gave me a sore shoulder and I didn't fancy carrying a heavy rucksack and injuring it further. Ground frost everywhere in town today, so it would have been pretty desperate up on the peaks. Ah well, time for a beer.

Dry-Run - 29/12/08
Went for a walk today with my step dad as a dry-run for the wild camp I want to do. Got the train into Glossop and walked up into the Peaks proper. It was very cold, and the sky wasn't as cloudless as the weather had report suggested. By the time I'd got to near the area I would be bedding down in the future it was 1:30pm and I was very hungry. After getting a brew on I set about getting the bacon butties sorted. I was sipping the tea whilst the bacon cooked. By the time it took me to eat the bacon butty the tea had frozen solid in my mug! I was very cold by this point and was shivering uncontrollably. Cover 22km in about 4.5-5hrs in the end. Not bad going.

Eat, Eat, Eat - 27/12/08
Didn't do a great deal yesterday apart from eat. Back home today. The house was freezing, but has warmed up nicely. I need to decide whether to go to Blackburn away or a family meal tomorrow... I've also got a whopping 6 ice climbing vouchers, so I'll be hammering (pardon the pun) the wall over the next few days.

Steaming - 25/12/08
Was steaming last night on the annual lads night out. Ended up running home, then made a bit of a clown of myself by chasing the cat round my mum's house! Happy Christmas everyone.

Full of a Cold - 23/12/08
Feel even worse today. Aching. Tight chest. Bunged up. My eyes feel like they've got sand in them. Had a cold this time last year and it was a bugger.

Bit Coldy - 22/12/08
Woke up today a bit full of a cold. Hope it doesn't last over Christmas as I hate not being able to taste, especially not the all important Christmas meal! Think I hit it a little hard this weekend; well Saturday!

Whisky Regret - 21/12/08
Walked to the shop to get some breakfast and milk and ended up spending £25. Feeling tender after a party back at mine which lasted until 7am and involved drinking some expensive whisky. As it was an xmas gift to my step dad I've had to replace that too!

Sankeys Soap - 20/12/08
Supposed to be going out round town and then off to Sankeys Soap as a mate is DJing the bar upstairs! I didn't even know there was an upstairs. Don't feel up to it, as I'm knackered.

Wine and Curry - 19/12/08
Stayed in with a bottle of wine and a homemade curry. Yum.

Xmas Markets - 17/12/08
Went to the xmas markets around town tonight with people from work. Was good. Lots of mulled wine. Stopped someone red handed (not from the wine) but with my Mike's rucksack. It was a woman, and she looked normal, rather than that of a scally. I pretended I was the police and she shit herself. Quite funny really.

04/02/07 - I’m getting in to compositing as well as my Maya 3D modelling. So after browsing the net looking for some good ideas, or some examples, I found this Peter Sanitra’s website where has has put up a demo reel of his. quite frankly it is THE best demo reel I’ve seen for an awful long time. It’s short, but very punchy. His technical 3D skill are excellent which seems nearly matched by a clever bit of compositing and editing. I strongly advise you to download the demo reel (at highest quality if you monitor / tv supports it).

It’s interesting how he comments on his website about not liking "... the Vancouver / Toronto / whatever style of demo reels, that have 10-15 seconds of work, then 1 minute of breakdowns and 2 minutes of thank you, to all supervisors, mentors and others…" Interesting because virtually all of the other demo reels are in that same style; I find it boring. Peter’s certainly stands out from the rest.

I liked it that much I even got the Linkin Park album which is the featured soundtrack used on it!

05/11/06 - NEC Bike Show 2006 in Birmingham. For those bike and bird lovers out there check out: here

27/06/06 - Recently uploaded some photos from a night out in Leeds for the Save The Children Charity. It was a Bond night, which turned out to be a pretty good night. Have a look at the photos here.

Here you will find a load of photos from a cricket match between Kersley CC and Little Lever CC.

30-06-06 - I’ve uploaded a new Blog for those that are interested. Blog 6 is all about my 3 Peaks Challenge, which went a little wrong.

DJ Rob Knagg has a new mix to his collection available for download. I recommend it and have been blasting it out recently. Some old ones on there.

I’ve added downloads for bcmwl5.inf and bcmwl5.sys for the broadcom chipset on Blog 3, for those of you who are trying to get BackTrack to work.

I bet people will have noticed that I’ve become very behind with my blogging again. I’ve been busy trying to edit the Thailand Holiday video and it has taken me some time. I’ve done editing before, but only basic stuff, so getting the right workflow was difficult. So coming next will be a Thailand blog (of what I can remember of it) and then a post-Thailand video edit recap. I’m not sure whether I’ll go to the lengths of actually writing a tutorial on it as they seem best covered in a video tutorial, but we’ll see.

Some random bits

Finally, for now, the image of the month. After trawling through old backup CDs for a mate who was after an old edited photo I did; I stumbled across this photo instead:

This guy is real and still is at a place I worked at some time ago. Bill, the kind of odd job man, or rather odd man.
